150 days of planting means a total of 48 million
Planting season is a busy time of year in Stora Enso’s forests. More than 48 million seedlings will be planted in Sweden, Finland, Russia and Estonia during 2021. Planting season is about 150 days and about 320 000 new trees are planted each day, hence the total of 48 million.
Beneficial for all
Forests can grow as much as 20% faster when cultivated plants and seedlings are used instead of regular ones. This means added value for everyone – forest owners, Stora Enso, and for the climate. Because healthy and growing forests reduce negative climate impacts, and with sustainable forest management, including planting, forests can play an even more important role in mitigating climate change.
